Been There, Done That
Did I mention that each place I visited on my BC road trip tour could easily become home? First it was Fernie (despite being regarded as “hippy heaven”) the landscape is rugged and stunning. Then I found Rossland, the town at the top of the mountain. I loved Rossland not only for it’s rugged beauty but also for it’s ski hill, Big Red. I felt at home! And then Nelson, BC. I wish I had more than one night to explore there. Visit if you can.
Once you leave the mountains you find yourself in the Okanagan…wine country! I spent one night in eclectic Osoyoos, and was able to capture an early morning sunrise before leaving town. I also enjoyed a nice glass of wine from Tinhorn Creek, a local winery, and highly recommended if you see it on a wine list somewhere: http://www.tinhorn.com/
My last stop before heading to Vancouver was in a small town called Keremeos. Truly a western town with lots of history, but also lots of old cars! Despite what you might think I’m not a car junky, but I do love history and these cars ooze it. I hope you’ve enjoyed my brief glimpse at a very small part of beautiful BC – I know I did and can’t wait to go back.
